　あの地震の影響は津波だけにとどまらないようです。

『The quake, the seventh strongest earthquake in recorded history, hit Chile Saturday and should have shortened the length of an Earth day by 1.26 microseconds, according to research scientist Richard Gross at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.』

　インドの結婚式で実際に起こった悲劇に関するニュース。射殺された花婿を撃ってしまったのは彼の叔父。それは不運な事故でした。

　式の最後に祝福のため（空に向けて）撃とうとした銃が暴発、なんと花婿の頭部に命中・・・。

　アメリカ・ロードアイランド州で、63歳の男性が自分のペットである犬を自ら手術し、逮捕されました。

『A Rhode Island man who says he couldn't afford veterinary care for his dog has been charged with illegally operating on the pet.』

　つまり、獣医に診せるお金がなかったので自分でやってしまったということ。

　日本同様に厳しい経済状況が続くアメリカ、病気の犬を想い、仕方なくやってしまったというワケ。

　そして、その素人手術の傷が悪化して逮捕・・・可愛そうなお話ですが、その裏にはもっと残念な事実が！

　彼は犬の足にできたデキモノのようなものを気にして切開したのですが、実はそれ、痛みも何もなく、放置しておけば良かったものだったとのこと。

　つまり、やらなくても良い手術をして、犬も本人も苦しむことに・・・（涙）。

　早く元の生活に戻れると良いのですが・・・。
