　旅行中、病気だけは避けたいものですが、まあ皆さん経験があるかと。そんな旅行中の病気には、性別によって差があることが報告されています。

　59000名の海外旅行者を対象に行われたスイスの調査結果によると・・・

『World travel can make anyone sick but men and women tend to suffer different illnesses with women more prone to stomach problems and men at higher risk of fevers and sexually transmitted diseases,』

　女性は胃腸系の病気にかかりやすく、男性は発熱とアレ（汗）が多いのだとか。

　ということで女性は胃腸薬を持ち歩いた方が良いというアドバイスですが、男性の発熱はナゼ多いのか？

『Men had higher risks of fever, including from infections transmitted by mosquitoes, ticks or other such "vectors," such as malaria, dengue and rickettsia.』

　その熱には蚊によって感染するマラリアやデング熱なども多いのだとかとのこと。

　そして・・・

『The exact reasons for the sex difference are not clear. One possibility, according to the researchers, is that men make "more attractive hosts" to mosquitoes because the insects are lured by sweat and excessive sweating also washes off insect repellent.』

　男性の方が活動的なために、それによる汗がより多くの蚊をひきつけることで感染しやすいのではないかというのが専門家の仮説。

　ということで地域によっては、男性は虫除けスプレーなどを常備した方が良さそうですね。

　リスクを下げるためにも、アレも含めて自己防衛しましょーね。

チリ大地震で１日が短くなる？

　あの地震の影響は津波だけにとどまらないようです。

結婚式で射殺された花婿の悲劇

　インドの結婚式で実際に起こった悲劇に関するニュース。射殺された花婿を撃ってしまったのは彼の叔父。それは不運な事故でした。
